In short

  • Your tracking (meals, activity, sleep) is for you alone: it powers your targets, reviews and tips.
  • Bogeton sells no data and uses no advertising trackers.
  • Health data is read only with your consent, type by type, and you can withdraw it at any time.
  • The sound of your nights is analysed on your phone. Recorded moments join your account only if you choose so, for 180 days at most.
  • Bogeton’s servers are in France. You can view, export or delete everything.

Who is responsible

The data controller is the publisher of Bogeton (see the legal notice). For any question about your data, or to exercise your rights: write to support, topic My personal data.

This policy covers the Bogeton app (iPhone, Apple Watch, Android), Bogeton on the web (app.bogeton.com), bogeton.com and this help centre. Your Bogeton account is also your CookinBreak account: the recipe site cookinbreak.com has its own policy.

Health data

What you log in Bogeton and what you allow from Apple Health or Health Connect is health data. Bogeton processes it with your explicit consent, given in the app, and only for your own tracking.

  • You choose each type of data read, in your phone’s settings. Disconnecting Apple Health or Health Connect stops reading and deletes what was read.
  • Bogeton receives daily totals (steps, active calories, resting heart rate, variability, VO2 max), a summary of your workouts and your nights, including for each night a heart summary worked out on your phone (average and lowest heart rate, variability, breathing, wrist temperature on iPhone), never each measurement one by one. After you connect, your history is read once, up to 10 years back (100 nights for your heart at night), so your charts and your review start from far back; it is kept on your account and comes back on your new phone.
  • Data from Apple Health and Health Connect is never used for advertising, never sold and never shared for marketing.
  • It is not used to train artificial intelligence models.

The microphone and night listening

During night listening, sound is analysed on your phone; only the result (times, stages, wake-ups, minutes of snoring) joins your tracking. The measurements of your last 3 nights (noise level, phone movement, breathing rate and type of sounds recognised, every 30 seconds, with no sound recorded) are also kept on your account, to redo the analysis on another phone and improve it. At your first bedtime, the app asks what you want to keep. With Record night sounds (can be turned off in Sleep › Settings), a few clips (talking, snoring, coughing) are kept for 7 days on that phone, then deleted; they never leave it. With Back up to your account (off at first: turn it on at your first bedtime or in Sleep › Settings), these clips are also kept on your account, so you can play them on your other devices, and deleted automatically after 180 days. Nobody but you listens to them. Turning the option off deletes those on your account right away.

Photos

  • Meal photos: the photo is sent for analysis; the result (foods, amounts) joins your log. The photo of a meal you add is kept on your account for My trips (the 300 most recent), and deleted with your account.
  • Bogeton AI: a photo sent in a conversation stays in that conversation’s history until you delete it.
  • Barcodes: the image never leaves your phone; only the barcode number is looked up.

Bogeton AI

The messages and photos you send to Bogeton AI, with the context it needs (your goal, your day), are sent to Google (Gemini API) to produce the answer. Bogeton AI sends anything to Google only after your permission, asked before the first request; you can change your choice anytime in Bogeton AI settings (Send to Gemini). With the same permission, the support team can have Gemini prepare a draft reply to your help request, always reviewed before it is sent. In Account › Settings, Use my food profile and Use my data decide what Bogeton AI receives from your tracking. With the same permission, the texts of your weekly and monthly reviews are written by Gemini from the figures of your tracking (averages, trends, links found between your days and your nights). Bogeton AI’s answers are general guidance, not medical advice.

Your rights

At any time, you can:

  • access your data and ask for a copy;
  • correct it (mostly right in the app, Account › Your profile);
  • delete it, by deleting your account (Account › Security › Delete my account) or on request;
  • get it back in a common format (portability);
  • withdraw your consent (Apple Health, Health Connect, location, microphone, notifications), without affecting what was done before;
  • object to processing or ask for it to be restricted;
  • give instructions about your data after your death.

To do so, write to support from your account’s address. You get an answer within one month at most. If the answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority, or to the authority of your country.

Cookies and storage

Bogeton uses no advertising cookies and no audience measurement tools. Bogeton’s sites only use what they need to work: the sign-in session (app.bogeton.com, bogeton.com) and, in this help centre, access to your support requests. A request draft is kept in your browser until it is sent. None of these needs consent, as they are essential to the service you ask for.

Security

Encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, optional two-factor authentication, servers with no port open to the internet, access limited to the team, daily backups. If an incident affects your data, Bogeton notifies the CNIL and, when the risk is high, tells you directly.

Age

Bogeton is for people aged 15 and over. Below that age, a parent’s consent is needed.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes too. For a significant change, the app or an e-mail lets you know before it applies.
