Intermittent fasting
Optional: a rhythm from 12:12 to 20:4, your fast tracked live, an eating window for your meals. Stop whenever you like.
Bogeton doesn’t tell you when to eat: it helps you organize your meals around your goals. Intermittent fasting is optional, and it stays off until you choose it.
Find it
- When it makes sense for you, Intermittent fasting shows up in the Nutrition tab: as a card under Add when your meals already fit in a window (the cross puts it away for 30 days), otherwise under My program. Touch and hold it to choose Stop suggesting.
- It’s always in Nutrition › Settings › Intermittent fasting, to turn it on or back on whenever you like.
It’s available from age 18.
Turn it on
The introduction takes three steps: how a fast works, your rhythm and eating window (based on your meal habits when they show one), then the situations where fasting should be decided with a doctor: pregnancy or breastfeeding, eating disorders (now or in the past), diabetes or medication taken with meals, an ongoing illness, low weight or recent unintended weight loss. Your answers stay on your phone: nothing is saved.
Tap Turn on fasting to start. Not for me, at the top, removes it from your Nutrition tab.
Choose your rhythm
The first number counts the hours of fasting, the second the hours to eat. 16:8 is the best known; start with a gentle rhythm instead (12:12 or 14:10). The right rhythm is the one you keep without effort. The introduction offers the three gentlest rhythms; 18:6 and 20:4 can be set later on the fasting page.
Also set your eating window: the time of your first meal; the end follows your rhythm.
During a fast
- Tap Start fast, or I finished eating earlier to start from your last meal.
- Your fasting time is shown large, in a ring that fills up to the planned end. Fix the start or the planned end with a tap.
- Between fasts, a dial shows your day: your eating window, the current time and your logged meals.
- A meal logged during the fast offers to End at its time.
- On iPhone, your fast shows on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island (setting On the Lock Screen). On Apple Watch, find it in Nutrition and in the Bogeton Fasting complication.
- A reminder can let you know at the planned time.
Your fasts and suggestions
Your history keeps each fast, its length and your last 8 weeks, with no streak to keep. Now and then, Bogeton makes a suggestion based on your fasts: fit your window to your hours, or a gentler rhythm if meals fall short on fasting days. Never to fast longer. Your weekly review also describes how regular your fasts are, and Bogeton AI knows your eating window to help you place your meals.
Stop it
At the bottom of the fasting page, tap Stop intermittent fasting. Your fasts stay in your history, and you can turn it back on anytime in settings.
