Recovery and resting heart rate

Each morning, your resting heart rate, its variability and your night tell you whether your body is ready for a hard session.

The Recovery card, at the top of the Today screen and in the Activity tab, shows three levels:

  • Well recovered: a good day for a hard workout.
  • Normal recovery: your usual session is fine.
  • Easy day suggested: walking, yoga or rest, your body is recovering.

What is measured

  • Resting heart rate: compared with your usual average. A few more beats than usual often point to a short night, a hard effort the day before or early fatigue.
  • Heart rate variability: the higher it is, the more rested you are.
  • Your night: its length against your goal.

Tap the card to see the details and why today’s level was chosen.

These are pointers to plan your day, not medical advice.
